Choosing a photographer can be a daunting task ... so look around and find someone you are comfy with.... If you are looking for a newborn photoshoot they are best to take place before baby reaches 10-14 days old. As long as mum and baby are doing well it's great to capture photos around 7 days, this is perfect timing for baby to sleep and still be all curled up. Some poses don't work if baby is too old. Baby sessions are not fast nor quick, but I try to make the as relaxed as possible. It's not up to me to rush baby, but I take the lead from the baby. If extra time is needed for feeding, back rubs or cuddles then it is done. The session moves around the baby and your family.
A bit of Shhhhhh.... Never goes a miss.

"SOMETIMES THE SMALLEST THINGS TAKE UP THE MOST ROOM IN YOUR HEART." A.A.MILNE
Bringing your child into this World is one of the greatest joys and should be celebrated . Your child is a priceless gift and you will want to remember their teeny tiny fingers and toes, sleepy eyes and squishy cheeks as those moments pass too quickly . Lisa Scott Photography will help you capture and cherish those precious memories for a lifetime.
Studio session can take from 2- 4 hours as its completely led by baby. You & your baby will not be rushed .We will take breaks to nurse/feed and to change your baby, and to soothe your baby whenever it becomes necessary. The baby will sleep best if he or she is fed right before the session and if the room is pretty warm (23+ or more) so be aware of this and dress accordingly.
My number one priority with newborn photography is "Safety First "Your little bundle will always be treated with the highest level of care, with heated rooms, padded changing mats and plenty of time for feed and cuddles . I do not use props or poses that put your baby at risk of harm.
ARRIVING AT THE SESSION
Whether the session is to take place on-location or in my studio, I will take few moments to get to know you and your baby / children. We will discuss again the main goal of the session , what images you want captured , if you have any special props you want included in the photos etc. Once you are ready for your session, have baby wrapped in a blanket and nappy only, nice and loose so that no marks appear on babies skin.
DURING THE SESSION
Please be prepared for the session to last even up to 4 hours as I do not like to rush the baby and will allow as many breaks for feeding/changes as needed. Ideally make sure you feed the baby prior to the session as well. What we want is for your baby to be nice and warm...and that's really all that matters!
During the studio session I will begin by photographing your baby on my bean bag, using a variety of blankest and wraps . After the bean bag poses are achieved, I will photograph your newborn in the props that you have chosen or provided. Accidents happen so if I get peed or poo'd on or my props do, please don't worry about it! It's all part of my job and it wouldn't be the first time it's happened!
It is never too early to book a session and it is best to book your session while you are still pregnant. If baby decides to come early or late contact me ASAP and we will get a date arranged. When scheduling, it is very important to have the shoot within the first 14 days of life if possible. During the first 14 days babies are more curled up and sleep easily while being moved around.
"THEY ARE ONLY THIS SMALL FOR JUST AN INSTANT"
